I’m incredibly proud of the Kiwi community here in London — it’s something that’s always been here, full of people willing to lend a hand and look out for each other. Kiwis in London simply gives us all a space to connect, share, and support one another. Hearing how this community has made a difference in people’s lives is the best part — and here are just a few stories from our members about the impact it’s had.

At the August drinks last year i dragged my roommate with me against her will, we met a bunch of other kiwis that night. A few had just arrived in London the same week, and some had been living there 10 years. One year later, I am still dating the guy I met that night and still friends with all those people! We are all coming this month to celebrate one year of friendship! The August drinks last year changed our lives!

Your page has helped me heaps as a parent of someone who moved to London to do her masters and then carry on to live in London. I have learnt so much from other people as I support my daughter…renting costs, finding sub-leases, cost of living, air flights and much more. My daughter even got a job through a connection on your page. I feel like I have a handle on what goes on over there, which in turn helps me support my daughter. I really appreciate it. – Rachel

You’ve been an absolute godsend for myself and I’m sure many others over the last 14 years. While I’ve only used your services for the last 3 and a half, the help provided has truly been immeasurable. From the insight and info when first looking to move, and the frequent events/webinars put in to help people and guide people through the transition, the KIL monthly drinks where I have met and now made lifelong friends. The constant help with queries around navigating visas and flat finding etc. the list goes on. We’d all be a bit worse off without your mahi Clint. – Matt

My best friend Sam and I arrived in London in March 2023 with no friends or community. We lasted about a month before coming along to the kiwis in London coffee meet up in Bermondsey. There we met some amazing people, Cheryl, Jamie, Matt, Meg, Kate, Alex and Michael who quickly became our closest friends in London. Since then we have been on trips to Portugal, Bath, and Italy. We will be celebrating Cheryl and Jamie’s wedding next year back in Christchurch. Having those meet ups, and pay-day drinks has made all the difference for us and without the amazing community we wouldn’t have had the same experience in London. It’s bittersweet as now our visas are coming to an end next year and the group is slowly getting smaller as we move back home. But we have made friends for life because of this group and we couldn’t be more appreciative of the work that Clint and the rest put into building this community!

Hey KIL
You helped me land a job that made me love London again!
You had a job post that I applied for at the start of the year which I got which made me want to extend my visa. Otherwise would’ve gone home in August. Very thankful to this community.
